Untitled Document HCC is in the process of upgrading to Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2013. As part of the upgrade process, all faculty now have access to Microsoft Lync instant messaging system and Office 365. Office 365 includes Office Web Apps and SkyDrive storage and file management. Lync

Installation Instructions and Tutorial - Microsoft Lync

Lync is instant messaging software that offers audio/video conferencing, as well as the capabilities to share a screen or host a meeting. Lync can be useful for:
  • Virtual Office Hours
  • Hosting meetings across departments/campuses
  • Giving a virtual lecture
  • Sharing desktop applications
  • Instant communication with coworkers and students

OneDrive

Installation Instructions and Tutorial - OneDrive

OneDrive is a cloud based file sharing and saving site for up to 7GB of storage. Use OneDrive on the web, via the PC/Mac app, from your device and in conjunction with Office 2013. OneDrive can be useful for:
  • Sharing work files, photos and videos across devices
  • Online collaboration
  • Tracking versions of documents
  • Automatically backing up your PC or Mac to the web
  • Storing up to 7GB of data in the cloud

SkyDrive

Tutorials: Web Apps allow you to work in the cloud. They will open Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and PDF files in your web browser. With Web Apps, you can open and edit documents stored in SkyDrive, attachments sent via Outlook and notes received via Lync.
